When you first start the app, you will be taken to the Events page, shown here.

Close the Welcome! message at the top of the screen (if you have one) by pressing Dismiss.

This page shows a list of our events. Table Tailor comes pre-loaded with a demo event, which is selected when you first install the app. You can experiment with this event, or get started straight away by creating your own event. In fact, the demo event is actually an expanded version of what we'll be creating in this tutorial.

Tip: The demo event can be reset to its initial state at any time by pressing the Reset Demo button.

Let's start by creating a new event.

Press the + button to open the Add Event form.

In the Event Name field, enter Peter & Sophie's Wedding.

If required, you can use the Notes field to capture any information you like about the event. For now, we can leave this blank.

Tip: Notes fields are available for many features in the app (e.g. guests, tags, tables etc.)

Press Save.

Our new event now shows up in the Events list and has been automatically selected, as indicated by the blue title bar.

If you need to make changes to your events, you can use the Edit Details and Delete buttons.

Table Tailor lets you work with multiple events, each with separate guest lists, tables and seating plans.

At any given time, there is one active (or selected) event, which controls what information is shown across the app. You can switch between events at any time. Let's see how to do that.

Switch to the Demo Event by tapping the Demo Event card.

Notice that the event button at the bottom of the screen (above the main navigation buttons) changes to show the name of the selected event (Demo Event).

Press the Guests button in the main navigation bar to switch to the guest list.

We'll learn more about the guest list shortly, but for now the main thing to notice is that this is full of information from the demo event.

Press the event button above the main navigation buttons (currently labelled Demo Event) to go back to the Events list.

Tap Peter & Sophie's Wedding to switch back to our newly created event.

Return to the guest list by pressing Guests in the main navigation bar.

As you can see, the guest list for Peter & Sophie's Wedding is empty. We'll start adding guests in the next section.
